Fathom works out DMM packs

Fathom has been appointed to revamp packaging for rock climbing hardware manufacturer DMM International. The Manchester-based consultancy will also create sales brochures and press advertising for the company in a project worth more than £15 000 to the group.

It is the first time the manufacturer has used a design consultancy. DMM International brand manager Chris Rowlands says the in-house designers have reached their creative limit and the company needs an outside group with fresh ideas.

According to Rowlands, Fathom has been briefed to produce a technical catalogue that is informative for both consumers and retailers in British and international markets.

The consultancy was appointed after it approached the manufacturer in December 2002.
