I read with interest your editorial comment (DW 17 July).

It seems to me that corporate identity, culture and the expression of these in the built environment often turns into a piecemeal consideration of each client’s struggle with the “chicken and egg” conundrum: ie which issue should they address first?

It is our view at Design Research Unit that the ethos or philosophy of a company drives its need and consequent brief to the design professionals. A successfully derived visual and environmental expression is multifaceted and requires a multiskilled design consultancy to respond.

It was with this intent that Sir Misha Black and Milner Gray founded DRU in 1943 – the core in-house design skills of graphic design, interior design and architecture continue to provide an effective launching pad from which DRU offers corporate design that meets the needs of holistic corporate identity.
