Real Studios tells the history of Hackney

Real Studios will reconstruct both historic and contemporary buildings, communities and individuals in Hackney to show how they have changed.

“This thematic type of installation emphasises that the process of change is on-going,” says Real Studios marketing manager Victoria Cook. “The permanent displays should tell the story of Hackney’s rich cultural diversity, past and present.”

The Hackney Museum will also showcase artefacts from a former museum which closed two years ago. The final section of the exhibition looks at the diverse communities that have settled in Hackney and their contributions to life in the borough.

The exhibition will be housed in a new building, the Hackney Technology Learning Centre, which is being constructed next to the Town Hall.
