Mourgue gives clean lines to Ligne Roset London

Pascal Mourgue has created interiors for furniture company Ligne Roset’s London City store, as it moves to take advantage of the British enthusiasm for interiors in what has become one of its fastest growing markets.

The store, which has a surface area of over 900m2, will be the largest of the company’s UK outlets. Mourgue, who is also one of Ligne Roset’s key product designers, was appointed to work on the project in February last year.

The store, in Commercial Road, will house the complete Ligne Roset collection, encompassing sofas, cabinets, shelving units, rugs, soft furnishings, accessories, lighting and tableware.

New international collections will be tailored to the British market and the launch collection will feature Mourgue’s latest furniture design, entitled Lover.

Mourgue has created ‘an enormous white space with a grey mezzanine and grey stone flooring, within the complexities of a U-shaped area’, says a Ligne Roset spokeswoman. The ‘underplayed’ colour scheme allows ‘the focus to be on the furniture’, the spokeswoman adds.

The store exterior has been ‘dressed’ with anthracite cladding to give it a more contemporary edge and features a stainless steel line running across the building.
