Corporate Edge splits to form communications arm

Corporate Edge is set to formally separate its communications division from its branding operation. It is renaming the communications section Likemind, while retaining the Corporate Edge name for its branding business.

The communications and branding design elements of the business previously operated alongside each other under one name but have now been separately identified, with the former handling digital and print design from marketing material to websites and blogs.

Simon Lake, managing director of Likemind, says, ‘The digital and print sides of the consultancy, which account for 40 per cent of our UK revenue, have been brought together under Likemind.’

He says the new name will take advantage of on-line opportunities and adds that the consultancy is intending to expand its digital team. He explains, ‘We now have a 45-strong office and we might have 50 people by the end of the year.’

Corporate Edge managing partner Michael Levy says, ‘This is about clarity and emphasising the fact that we are specialists in our respective fields of corporate communications (Likemind) and branding (Corporate Edge).’

In-house name developers created the new name to highlight the consultancy’s approach to working with clients and targeting audiences, Lake explains.
