Coventry City FC nets birthday badge

Coventry City Football Club is to unveil a commemorative anniversary badge later this year, crafted by Cheshire-based graphic designer Nick Job.

The modified crest, chosen by fans from three options, will be used on promotional merchandise and the team’s kit, to mark CCFC’s 125th anniversary.

According to Job, the football badge is a ‘respectful evolution of the popular and iconic club badge from the 1970s’. The club’s commercial director, Ken Sharp, explains, ‘The aim was to bring our crest into the 21st century to reflect our ambitions, without losing any of the considerable heritage or sentiment of the current badge.’

Job was awarded the four-figure project earlier this year, following a speculative approach to CCFC.
