Landor gets wise for BPI brand

Landor Associates has created new interiors for the recently formed Banco BPI (above), as part of a complete branding exercise. The bank was formed last summer by the merger between Portuguese banks BFB, BBI and BFE.

The project has already involved a new identity, which was launched recently and a new exterior design to be unveiled at the end of spring. It also includes the creation of BPI Universo, a concession format designed for Portuguese supermarkets. All design work is by Landor.

“The name and culture of the new BPI respects the history and values of the three banks from which it was formed,” says a Landor spokeswoman.

She adds that the bank’s core values are wisdom and harmony. These are based upon the client having a wise workforce, with an ambition to provide clients and the community with a high quality, ethical service.

The new interiors for the 430-strong chain will begin rolling out in April, with a target of 100 branch refurbishments in the first year.
