Christmas humbug will be saved for millennium

It looks like punters are already fed up with the millennium hype. Concerns among retailers that people will spend less this Christmas because of the festivities coming straight afterwards have been reduced by a new Mintel report, showing most plan to spend more than ever.

But half of respondents plan no major expenditure for the millennium. And only 9 per cent plan to visit the designer’s playground at the Millennium Dome.
