II By IV puts style on new restaurant menu

Toronto group II By IV has created the interiors for an upmarket restaurant with a nautical theme in the Canadian countryside.

The Waters Edge Bar and Grill, frequented by North American celebrities and athletes, is at Lake Joseph Golf & Country Club in the Muskokas area of Northern Ontario.

The nineteenth century restaurant building was restored after standing empty for 30 years and features nautical elements inspired by the “Great Canadian North”, says a II By IV spokeswoman.

There is a glass mosaic in the shape of a compass on the floor, portholes in the walls and doors, and sailcloth stretched across the ceiling.

The warm atmosphere is created by the northern autumnal colours used throughout, the spokeswoman adds.

“Golf is a very fast-growing and competitive industry,” says consultancy partner Keith Rushbrook. “You have to offer your clients more than the basics. They want entertainment, fun and style from a restaurant.”

The consultancy has also recently completed the interiors for Soda Marketta, a bakery and coffee house in Toronto.
