Boom Boom – a new bar aiming to be the most fashionable of its kind in London – has opened with interiors by Tony Weller and graphics by The Green House.

The west London bar is “specifically designed to appeal to the bohemian crowd who are into music, film, media and being seen in the right place”, according to a Boom Boom spokeswoman. “It’s a bar with balls,” she adds.

Weller, who designed interiors for London’s Beach Blanket Babylon bar, incorporated pop art by American artist Roy Lichtenstein and British artists Gilbert and George into the design.

“It’s about style and glamour, giving the Notting Hill crowd a fantasy/multimedia environment in which to escape,” says Weller.

The Green House adapted Boom Boom’s US-designed logo: “We wanted to reflect the comic- strip atmosphere of the bar,” says Green House managing and creative director Judi Green.
