Blundell MacCallum opens shop in New York

London design consultancy Blundell MacCallum has opened a New York office, with a European office to follow before Christmas.

It was originally planned that the European office would open before the US venture went ahead, but premises problems have prevented that. The New York operation is headed by an existing staff member at the Blundell MacCallum UK office and currently four people have been recruited for the new office.

The purpose of the move to the US is not strategic, rather an opportunity to service existing clients, says managing director Steven Blundell. “We believe we can contribute to our clients’ needs by delivering them the quality of corporate graphics that we produce in Europe.”

Those clients include companies in the investment banking sector. The design group recently implemented a strategic redesign of investment bank ING Barings’ corporate image.

“Investment banking is a global sector and we need to service our clients from a global perspective,” Blundell adds.

Blundell was unable to comment on the precise location of the European premises.
