Co-op goes for more pack info

Aaron Associates, which bought CWS’s in-house design department back in January, has designed the packaging that spearheads the Co-op’s ethical retailing initiative.

The initiative by the CWS-owned Co-op, the UK’s fifth largest food retailer, is based on a survey of 30 000 customers and gives an unprecedented amount of on-pack information about the health and environmental effects.

`We’re not making a comment with the packaging and the way the information is included, just making information available. It will be on the pack fronts when possible,’ says consultancy director Martin Dyckhoff.
