BT set to brand its mobile business

BT will appoint a design consultancy to brand its new business venture, BT Wireless, within the next few weeks.

Having undertaken a restructuring last week, in which it announced the launch of four new businesses, the telecoms group has revealed that it has not yet created an identity for its mobile phone business.

“The current BT Wireless identity is an interim one. We will be appointing somebody to create the identity, but as yet a consultancy has not been appointed,” says BT design director David Mercer.

Last week, BT launched three other business operations each with new identites. These are: Yell, redesigned by Johnson Banks and Deepend; Ignite designed by Interband Newell and Sorrell; and Openworld, designed by Wolff Olins.
