Transport on the manifesto

With the issue of transport moving to centre stage in London’s mayoral elections, the role played by design is also coming under scrutiny.

Candidates have pledged their individual commitments to London transport, and future plans for the public transport system are starting to emerge.

Among future innovations are plans that include replacement of the travelcard with re-usable smartcards and also the introduction of “moving” Tube advertisements.
