‘Doc’ moves up at Cobalt

Branding and environmental design consultancy Cobalt has made a number of staff changes internally, following the departure of creative director Tim McCullock and marketing director David Williams.

McCullock left the group to move to Australia, while Williams has been appointed as a director at CGI.

Cobalt managing director Joe Wilson says: “We have restructured responsibilities, with William Ben assuming accountability for sales and former environmental design director David “Doc” Thody replacing Tim as creative director. Iain Ellwood, who was appointed in September as strategic director, will oversee PR and marketing.”

Meanwhile, the consultancy is in discussion with US cosmetics brand Hard Candy about rolling out its new retail counter, following a successful trial at department store Harvey Nichols.

The group won a three-way pitch last year to design the retail unit, beating another UK consultancy and a US group.
