Throwing a curve

Curve Design managing director Nick Buckley has used his own entrepreneurial skills to win the £25 000 contract to design the awards for Ernst + Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

Curve Design managing director Nick Buckley has used his own entrepreneurial skills to win the £25 000 contract to design the awards for Ernst Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

The contract for the 66 trophies is made all the more impressive by the fact that the trophy is based on an existing logo. National winners will get gold-plated pewter awards while the regional winners will receive silver-plated ones.

Buckley beat entries from more than 20 UK companies with his wood and pewter trophy.

Ernst and Young head of entrepreneurial services and chairman of the judges David Wilkinson says: ‘Nick’s design embodies the entrepreneurial spirit. It has an added dash of the unexpected and reflects the prestige of the awards.’
