Group that’s concerned over railway information

In response to your News Analysis on information design in the rail industry (DW 10 October), I’d like to announce that there is a group that is concerned about such things: the International Institute for Information Design.

The IIID is organising a three-day conference, Designs and Destinations, to be held in London on 20-22 March 2003 to discuss, among other things, the issues raised in Clive Walker’s piece.

The conference will be chaired by Erik Spiekermann, with the likes of Professor David Begg, chairman of the Commission for Integrated Transport and advisor to the Government, Paul Mijksenaar, developer of the information systems for Schiphol and JFK airports, and Richard Saul Wurman, information architect as speakers.

The event will pull together those from around the world who have an interest in integrating information for people, journeys and places.

For further information contact Design Events on 020 7247 6116 or e-mail adam.fennelow@design events.co.uk.
