Vote on rebranding of Viglen

Viglen Technology, the company owned by Sir Alan Sugar, is to put an option to re-brand to shareholders at its AGM scheduled for December.

A new name, Learning Technology, has been put forward by the board, to reflect the company’s move from computer manufacturing to providing IT equipment and services to the education sector.

A decision has yet to be made as to how any change of branding will be handled, but a spokeswoman confirms that there is no in-house design team.

The name change applies only at plc level and its subsidiary Viglen will continue to trade as normal.
