Bass Taverns is investing heavily in its gay venues with the opening of a new gay bar in London’s Covent Garden.

Bar Aquda opened this week with interiors and graphics by Fly Design, the design arm of MCA Group in Kingston upon Thames.

“Having previously worked with Bass on its Rupert Street bar in Soho, we understood the need for strong, fresh imagery which reflects the gay community’s philosophy of self expression,” says Fly Design managing director Ivan Bell.

The consultancy also handled the logo, menus, press advertising and promotional material, including postcards which feature the image pictured.

Fly is now refurbishing Bass’s Coleherne bar situated in London’s Earls Court.
