Integrated branches possible for Lloyds TSB

The Lloyds TSB banking group is believed to be planning a new branch format, possibly involving the presence of both brands in the same site. The two institutions merged in 1995.

The combined group is now understood to be seeking an interior design consultancy to work on a new format for its outlets.

Wolff Olins has been working with the banking group since last September on “design issues across the group”, confirms a spokeswoman for the bank. She could neither confirm nor deny that a new branch concept forms part of the consultancy’s work.

Neither party would confirm the exact nature of the project, but it is believed to be based on the group’s identity and branding. If a branch format is to be developed it would be likely to incorporate the results of Wolff Olins’ projects as part of a convergence of the two brands.
