Financial services group Virgin Direct is to alter its branding in a bid for a more mature image.

Any design work which is given to outside consultancies is likely to go to rostered group Start, says brand controller Steve Taylor. Branding issues, including the retention of the Virgin script, is undecided.

The new branding is expected to be in use by the beginning of 1999.
