Coley Porter Bell is seeking to boost its creative output with the appointment of Allison Miguel as creative director.

Miguel joins the WPP-owned group on 1 July from Wickens Tutt Southgate, where she is a senior designer. “I’m going there to boost the creative side,” she says.

Miguel’s appointment was prompted by the decision by joint creative director Kate Shaw to cut down her involvement with CPB to two days a week. Her fellow creative director Paul Parkin has since decided to leave the group.

According to CPB chairman Colin Porter, Miguel will be the only full-time creative director, leading a team of around 25 designers. He adds: “We’re very excited about Allison’s appointment. We need a focus on creativity and she’s so passionate about design.”

Meanwhile, WTS has created two new positions on its board for joint creative directors. Senior designers David Beard and Simon Coker have been promoted to the new posts.

The seven-year-old consultancy has also brought in six new staff to swell its account handling, planning and administrative teams.
