FPP picks Armstrong’s strategy

Former Proctor and Gamble design manager Judy Armstrong has joined Newcastle-based design consultancy FPP as design director to grow its recently-established London office and expand its design team.

Armstrong is seeking to appoint “at least two” designers to the London office immediately. The London operation has taken on seven designers since March – Armstrong is hoping to add a similar number of designers to the team next year.

Armstrong was previously visual communications global design manager at P&G for its Vidal Sassoon brand. She joined the pharmaceuticals giant in 1992, where she worked on packaging, in-store design and websites for beauty brands such as Oil of Olay and Head & Shoulders shampoo.

“I am keen to expand our design resource to help take FPP into new areas such as beauty care, and add value to our existing clients,” she adds. These include Nissan, Virgin and the Cliveden Hotel Group.

FPP director Ted Rodger adds: “Judy’s appointment will help us focus on strengthening core competencies and shaping our future.”

Armstrong’s appointment aims to provide FPP with a new strategic perspective, he adds.
