… and push the use of Green solutions while we’re about it

Gill Parker’s take on sustainability and corporate social responsibility in the workplace is helpful (Business Insight, DW 17 January).

However, we were surprised there was no mention of climate change and energy use. Design consultancies are often heavily involved in using or specifying lighting and electrical equipment. It is here that they could make the biggest changes by using ‘smart’ and Green lighting solutions. These need not all be dim, low-energy bulbs – there is a wide range of low-energy options available.

Perhaps what design studios need is better information and training on how to best deploy these solutions.
