T-shirts suitable for those with catholic taste

News has reached us of some strange happenings on the Toby Pimlico website.

The Ashleycarter-designed site, www.tobypimlico.com, which launched last month (DW 16 March), sells Toby Mott’s slogan T-shirts, which say things like: “I do things I shouldn’t”; “yoga kills”; “in your dreams”; “I can’t help it”; and “I must not chase the boys”, along with underwear, jewellery and children’s clothes.

Now the 300 hits received in the first week from upmarket girls school Roedean pleased Toby Pimlico no end – spot on from a target audience point of view.

However, it finds the 400-plus hits from the Vatican City somewhat bewildering. Does the Pope go in for wordwear when he changes out of his full-length robes? Is “I do things I shouldn’t” an attempt at papal irony? Do cardinals kick back in “I must not chase the boys” shirts?

We think we should be told
