Argos and M&S go direct

Catalogue retailer Argos announced plans to roll out its home shopping service nationwide this week, after a successful year-long trial in the Granada region.

The move coincides with Marks & Spencer’s launch of its biggest ever catalogue, specifically for home shopping.

Argos Direct, which has been entirely designed by Interbrand Newell and Sorrell, will allow customers to browse the catalogue at home before arranging delivery to the location of their choice.

Marks & Spencer has extended its home shopping business with the introduction of its first ever combined womenswear and home catalogue.

The Direct autumn 1999 catalogue is being trialed in 20 M&S stores nationwide and will also be mailed to selected M&S Chargecard customers.
