Student figures higher this year
Over 38 000 students have applied for art and design degree and national diploma courses so far this year, an increase of 13 000 on 1996, according to statistics from UCAS and the now defunct Art & Design Admissions Registry.

Applications for places are expected to arrive until the end of June. Figures on the number of place acceptances will be published at the end of September.
