Scotmid picks Tayburn Interior

Scottish Midland Co-Operative Society, known as Scotmid, has appointed Tayburn Interior to update its corporate identity and store design.

Scotmid intends to apply a more modern image to the interiors and exteriors of its food stores and develop complementary ideas for its non-food shops and funeral service. It is looking to evolve the food outlets into a convenience store format. Work is currently underway on three stores.

“We hope this will present the modern image of Scotmid, attracting existing customers to spend more and hopefully winning new customers”, says Scotmid chief executive Colin Bird.

Scotmid recently reported a turnover of 207m through its 100 outlets. Conran Design Group and BDG McColl were also shortlisted for the competitive pitch for the non-food stores.
