Manchester-based consultancy Mark has created the identity for a new volunteering scheme run by Virgin’s charitable foundation Virgin Unite.

The scheme, called Virgin Unite Insiders, aims to reward dedicated members of Virgin Unite that do the most to support the foundation’s charitable projects.

Mark was appointed in February following a credentials-led pitch and was briefed to create an identity that would make members feel special and that was fun and uplifting, says Virgin Unite creative director Christie Constantine.

Mark creative director Mark Lester says, ’The visual language is based around word play and puzzles – there’s an element of interactivity.’

The identity requires users to assemble individual parts to spell out words like ’amazing’ and ’captivating’.

Lester says, ’We didn’t want to just create another logo. The identity is more of an attitude.’

Mark has also created designs for cloth bags, USB sticks, pencils, greetings cards and elements for the Insiders microsite.
