ICI may review identity

ICI Acrylics is discussing plans to redesign its corporate identity after a £505m sale to the Ineos Group was agreed on Monday.

Based in Brussels, ICI Acrylics is the world’s leading producer of methyl methacrylate – the base of a wide range of acrylic products.

The group has 15 manufacturing plants in nine countries and employs over 2000 people across Asia, the Americas and Europe. All staff will transfer to the new company. Its product portfolio includes the Lucite and Perspex brands.

ICI Acrylics vice-president David Douglas says an identity announcement is likely in “the next few weeks. Corporate branding opposite Ineos is in debate. It is important and a major opportunity for the company, but we have not yet resolved the issue”.
