Friendly format for jeweller

Jeweller Mappin & Webb, part of the Asprey group, has appointed John Herbert Partnership to create a more welcoming retail format for its 16-strong chain.

Jeweller Mappin & Webb, part of the Asprey group, has appointed John Herbert Partnership to create a more welcoming retail format for its 16-strong chain.

This autumn will see the re-opening of the chain’s Manchester store using the new format on a trial basis.

“The aim of the new design is to create a modern, comfortable environment which will appeal to a broader range of customers while at the same time not alienating the existing client base,” says John Herbert.

The design will attempt to remove the intimidation factor from which many traditional jewellery stores suffer and incorporates new interiors, shopfront, lighting and finishes.

JHP was appointed late last year, having previously worked for other parts of the Asprey group.
