Boeing flies in the face of employee redundancies

News that American airline manufacturer Boeing is spending £500 000 on interiors by Metro Design on central London offices will not go down too well with the up-to 30 000 staff facing redundancy at the company.

The office, which it is renting for thousands of pounds a year, (‘considerably less’ than the £600 000 reported, according to a Boeing spokesman) is, after all, housing a maximum of 40 Boeing executives only.

Metro, apparently, has been briefed by Boeing to adopt a ‘minimalist style’.

We can only suppose that this is because the overburdened coffers won’t stretch to soft furnishings?
