South Yorkshire group opens in US

South Yorkshire group Ledgard Jepson is in the final stages of talks with a number of unnamed New York-based clients, after setting up an office in the city last month.

The 14-strong consultancy offers corporate identity, packaging, exhibition and product design.

It has appointed US graphic designer Joyce Menegus to head up the New York office, which will trade under the Ledgard Jepson name.

Menegus, who previously ran her own company Joyce Menegus Design, is a former president of the New Jersey Art Directors Club.

She is currently the sole member of the New York office, but Ledgard business development manager Steve Garside says the group plans to grow the office considerably over time.

“At present the office is just an embryo and it is concerned with new business generation rather than design. But in time we would hope to offer design services too,” says Garside.

“We chose New York because it has links with the UK and the opportunities are immense,” he adds.

Ledgard’s clients include British Steel and BT.
