Scotch whisky brand McClelland is relaunching its website and branding with a redesign by Nevis Design.
The Edinburgh-based design consultancy has revamped the website for the Morrison Bowmore Distiller’s single malt and is also updating its brand support materials as part of an ongoing revamp which began in 2007.
Activity so far has included new surface graphics, tubes and marketing collateral designed to give the range of whiskies from the regions of Islay, Speyside, Highland and Lowland a more unified feel. The website features a character, Mr McClelland, who will blog about his whisky-related experiences.
MBD brand manager Mari Laidlaw says the aim of the designs is to ‘produce an on-shelf family effect with a strong presence, thus producing an immediate experience’.
‘The design has to be versatile and simple enough to succeed in mainland Europe, Canada, the Asia Pacific region and the US, where the brand is currently number four in the market,’ she says.
