United Visual Artists to hold solo show

United Visual Artists will hold its first-ever solo exhibition, at London’s Smithfield Gallery this summer.

The design collective is currently working on several bespoke photographic artworks for the selling show.

Between six and ten large-format works will depict LED lights in unexpected places, including caves and quarries.

The two lead artists on the project are UVA creative director Matt Clark and UVA designer and photographer James Medcraft.

‘I was up in Wales last week setting up lights and taking pictures, experimenting in caves, woods and quarries,’ says Medcraft.

‘The show will explore the fact that light draws people to it, pulling their attention towards it. We want to study the warmth that people feel towards light,’ he adds.

UVA is also considering creating an installation for the 80m2 space.

The exhibition will take place at The Smithfield Gallery, London EC1, from 3-26 June.
