Cardiff college seeks design group for rebrand

The University of Wales Institute Cardiff is looking for a design group to help it rebrand as Cardiff Metropolitan University/Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd.

UWIC’s board of governors has discussed a name change for the institution. This follows an investment in new facilities.

The old name and brand, which have been in place for ten years, will be replaced ‘to raise brand awareness and profile’, the university says.

Pending confirmation from the Privy Council, UWIC’s new name will be used for the 2010/11 academic year and the university will be positioned as somewhere to study and do business.

UWIC says the tender process will be compliant with Design Business Association best practice standards. Interested parties can find more information at www.uwic.ac.uk/tellmemore.

UWIC creative services manager Sarah Garwood says, ‘UWIC is endeavouring to be as transparent as possible in this tendering process and we look forward to hearing from talented design professionals.’

All submissions of interest must be in by 24 September.
