Dreams and ambitions

At the end of the month, 50 young designers and artists from more than 15 countries will come together to exhibit work inspired by dreams at London’s Shoreditch Town Hall Basement Galleries.

Dreams will include works from young artists, designers and photographers and will grapple with thought-provoking questions about the subconscious and the signs, symbols and perameters of sleep.

Initiated by Central St Martins College of Art and Design student Monica Chung, the exhibition is unlike many similar exhibitions in the fact that it has been solely financed by the young people involved. All of the work shown is by students or recent graduates from art and design courses in the UK.

The aim of the exhibition is to offer a sneaky peak at the UK’s young creative talent ahead of the London Design Festival in September. For an extra-early sneaky peak, see below for some of the work that will be exhibited at the show, which has been kindly shown to us by the organisers.
