Being outside at the moment is the last thing you want to do. But if you’re missing the flora and fauna but don’t want to get frostbite, a new café at London department store Harrods, with graphics from Severn Studios, might offer the solution.
Severn Studios’ Bex Glover was appointed by Millington Associates to create illustrations for the new Tree House family café with a woodland theme.
Matching the colour palette to that of the restaurant’s prospective furniture, Glover created the 2.5m high panels by first hand drawing the characters and elements like the foliage before using Photoshop to layer different textures, such as scanned watercolours and fabrics.
Glover says, ‘I like my work to look a bit digital but still have hand-drawn element. It’s a rich mix of colours and patterns.’
Glover’s woodland creatures have been turned into giant jigsaws for children to play with at the café.
The Tree House is located on the fourth floor of Harrods, 87–135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London, SW1X
