National Geographic Channels International is to unveil the on-air identity for its new natural history channel Nat Geo Wild later this week.

Designed by London screen specialist Kemistry, the ident system includes underwater sequences of sharks in the Cayman Isles and squirrels in the Kalahari Desert.

Each of the idents begins gently and then bursts into life to reveal the Nat Geo Wild logo on-screen, using animals behaving in unexpected ways in their natural habitat.

Kemistry beat Turquoise, Devilfish, Argentinean group Stein Branding and National Geographic’s in-house team to take the project.
