Marrakesh brief for Jade Jagger

Jade Jagger is co-designing the interiors of up to 25 villas, a hotel and a penthouse for a Marrakesh development, under her partnership with property group Yoo.

The residential villas and 70-room hotel development, operating under the working title of Ksar – Arabic for fortress – will be aimed primarily at Moroccan locals rather than tourists.

Property, branding and marketing consultancy Frank & Earnest appointed Jagger for Yoo at the end of December, on behalf of local property developer Ajensa. The group beat two other European design consultancies to win the contract.

Frank & Earnest was appointed to the project about 18 months ago on the strength of its previous work in Morocco, and will be handling the design of all promotional materials, including a website.

Jagger, former creative director of jewellery designer Garrard, is known for her luxury bohemian style. She will be creating an interiors package for the residential villas as well as styling hotel apartments and rooms.

Frank & Earnest has appointed Italian luxury hotel operator Baglioni Hotels to operate the hotel.

Ksar is due to open in 2010.
