Macaulay Sinclair unveils Hawksmoor interiors

Nottingham-based consultancy Macaulay Sinclair has unveiled its designs for steakhouse Hawksmoor’s interior.

The second Hawksmoor restaurant, which opens in Covent Garden in October, will feature exposed brick walls, crack-glazed brick bonded tiles and oak panelling.

Cast-iron columns will be painted with a bronze metallic paint finish and spot-lit, while the barrel-vaulted ceiling will be lit with cold cathode perimeter lighting. The entrance staircase will feature recessed step lights with bespoke bronze chandeliers above.

The 120-cover restaurant will feature dining chairs and banquettes upholstered in peacock blue leather. Reclaimed furniture is being used for the reception counter, waiter stations and display cabinets. The flooring is reclaimed oak parquet.

Hawksmoor Seven Dials, which occupies the former site of the Watney-Combe brewery, opens in mid-October.
