Ron Arad and Max Lamb to deliver ‘completely unscripted’ talks
Ron Arad and Max Lamb are among designers who will be delivering ‘completely unscripted’ talks in a new series at London venue sketch.
The line-up of product designers also features Faye and Erica Toogood; Rolf Sachs and Piergiorgio Robino.
The Ketel One Creative talks will have no set theme, aiming to foster ‘interesting and dynamic dialogue’, says Sketch, with speakers either selecting a talking partner or letting the venue choose a partner for them ‘so the conversations can really end up anywhere.’
Each speaker will talk for 45 minutes to one hour.
The series has been organised by Sketch in-house curator Clea Irving. ‘The intention of the series was to create a platform for key thinkers in the design industry to explore critically, philosophically, and without an agenda of ‘selling’ their own practice or thoughts on the condition of the industry at large’, she says.
‘We wish to take advantage of the fact that the most interesting conversations with great creative minds usually occurs once the sun is down, at a party, sitting on a lounge, vodka in hand…’
The talks will take place at The Parlour, sketch, 9 Conduit St, W1S 2XG
The line-up is as follows:
29 June – Rolf Sachs
27 July – Faye and Erica Toogood
21 September – Max Lamb
19 October – Piergiorgio Robino
26 October – Ron Arad
