Type Tasting Open Studios
Fresh from creating edible lettering and talking type in Texas at SXSW festival, graphic designer and Type Tasting founder Sarah Hyndman is opening up her studio this weekend to celebrate all things typography.
Like last year’s event there will be a Dalston Type safari, where intrepid letter-hunters can trawl east London’s kebab and hipster-strewn environs for interesting characters in both senses, creating a phrase from their chosen letters that they feel sums up the area.
Other highlights include a brilliant-sounding discussion of type through album covers, exploring the likes of ACDC, Pulp and punk through a typographic viewpoint.
Those looking for a little gift for letter-loving pals can also explore the goods on offer at the weekend’s pop-up shop, which will sell items including screen printed posters, postcards and glow in the dark fairground letter prints.
