An illustrated Jam Session

Things are getting jazzy over at London’s Printer of Dreams, thanks to illustrator Janne Iivonen.

The print studio is hosting the Jam Session exhibition of work by Iivonen, a Helisinki-born artist now based in Brighton.

The works are filled with movement and fun, visually singing to us with the same wild abandon as the musicians they depict.

The gallery says, ‘His latest series highlights Janne’s ability to turn his daily observations into a cast of the weird and wonderful characters, bringing an often skewed and light-hearted world to life.’

Each image shows a different music genre – Ska, Funk, Grunge and Rockabilly

The works range from a funky Afro-coiffed lady:

To a lank-haired grunge type:

To this Jonny Bravo-esque character, whose quiff is almost as sizable as his big double-bass:

The four prints will be sold at printer of Dreams as limited edition Giclee prints.

This is the latest in an ongoing series of window exhibition at Printer of Dreams. Pervious shows have included the work of Rob Flowers and typographic origami by Sarah Milton.

Jam Session runs until  7 April at The Printer of Dreams, 53 Amwell Street, Angel, London, EC1R 1UR.
