A little ‘pendurance’ goes a long way

Forget Challenge Anneka, illustrator Lizzie Mary Cullen has got her cycling shoes and pen poised in preparation for a rather unusual marathon.

’Pendurance’ will see the designer take to the streets of London on a ‘Boris bike’ as she attempts to illustrate 50 London locations in under 24-hours.

Cullen teamed up with the creative process blog Think Work Play to devise the challenge of ‘pens, endurance and psycho-geography’. The bloggers will be following her progress throughout the day and will update Twitter followers with news and images via @Think_Work_Play

The task is set to take place on the 1 June commencing at 12 noon, so all you tweeters need to be ready, as Twitter-users will be the ones giving instructions on specific locations for Cullen to draw using the hashtag #LizzieTWP. With a minimum of ten minutes on each drawing, Cullen will then sprint (cycle) to the next place to complete the psycho-geographic map within the allotted time.

If she finishes it, TWP will award her the ‘Iron Creative’ trophy. If she fails, a far more humiliating fate awaits her.

She says, ‘I’m not sure what the forfeit is yet, but it’s going be pretty embarrassing.

‘Another reason to complete the challenge,’ she adds.

Good luck Lizzie!
