The consultancy has created a new identity, title sequences, iconography, communications materials and merchandising for the show.

The consultancy says, ‘The changes to the brand are a reflection of the show’s diverse characters and increasingly intriguing storylines that reflect Emmerdale as a village of hidden depths and aspirational country living.’

Lambie-Nairn was appointed to the work following a three-way pitch in September 2010.

Sophie Lutman, creative director at Lambie-Nairn, says, ‘We wanted to challenge perceptions of Emmerdale, but at the same time, ensure what we created was true to the programme’s heritage.’

She adds, ‘We took our inspiration from the surprising narrative aspects of Emmerdale. What you see isn’t always what you get – stories unravel and secrets are revealed. Our solution reflects this idea, and invites viewers to take a look underneath the surface.’
