WPP consultancies attempt Guinness world record in Cannes

The Brand Union and Lambie-Nairn are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s biggest book and will make their attempt at this year’s Cannes Also.

Cannes Also is a new programme launching at Cannes Lions festival, held from 19-25 June. The programme has been designed to showcase the private work of creatives, with a focus this year on photography. 

The book has been conceived and designed by the WPP consultancies and will provide a centrepiece to Cannes Also, showcasing a selection of the best photographs from this year’s entrants. It will sit outside the main entrance to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes during festival week. 

WPP would not confirm the size of the new book, but the current record stands at 4.18m x 3.77m, weighs 1420kg and has 346 pages.

Both consultancies will work on selection and exhibition design of Cannes Also, which is to be judged by photographer Rankin.

Rankin says, ‘In a world where commercial art is king, it’s great to be part of celebrating individuals’ creative talent.’
