NPower’s £20m Greener Schools programme kicks off today, with branding and visual identity by WPA Pinfold.

The initiative is centred around an interactive website – www.climatecops.com – which features five manga cartoon-style ‘climate cop’ characters. The campaign aims to educate children about energy saving.

WPA Pinfold has created the characters, which are aimed at seven to 11 year-olds, as well as a range of merchandise including T-shirts, notebooks, scene-of-crime tape, climate ‘crime’ cards, posters, certificates and badges.

Further branded materials were designed to be downloaded from the website.

Npower campaign manager Anne Chappell-Smith says, ‘The challenge for WPA Pinfold was to create a set of characters that weren’t necessarily superheroes, but who the children could aspire to, and identify with.’
