Pinched Post releases pumpkin font for Halloween

Design group Pinched Post has developed a Halloween font based on a ‘matrix system’, allowing the typeface to be punctured into pumpkins.

The group, which combines traditional craft methods with design and illustration in its work, used an electric drill to create a lattice across the skin allowing it retain its ‘counter’ shape.

Designer Amy Brown says, ‘We used an electric drill – stencils didn’t stay in place or work properly.’

‘It did take a while but the design can be reproduced accurately on to each pumpkin,’ Brown adds.
