Industrial Design Consultancy aims for Chinese growth

Industrial Design Consultancy has established a presence in Shanghai, which it aims to grow into a design operation in China.

The consultancy, which is headquartered in Berkshire, has appointed a business development manager to open a Shanghai office, building on its sales office in Hong Kong, which was established last year.

IDC managing director Stephen Knowles says, ‘We still have no design presence in China, but that’s going to be the next stage of development. We’ve been focusing on the Chinese market for about 18 months, gradually building up the number of clients.’

The consultancy has recently worked on a voice-activated CPR Assistant for Chinese company XFT Shenzhen Xunfengtong. The product will be introduced at Shenzen Airport, as well as at the Asian Games in Guangzhou.
